About Alpha's PageAlpha’s Page presents a refreshing spiritual philosophy. The main teaching is to open yourself to love and inspiration. Alpha's Page addresses the big questions which bother us, such as, “What is the meaning of life?” and, “If God exists, why is there so much pain?” Read more.
Who is responsible for this philosophy? The Alpha’s Page philosophy comes from the pen and mouth of an ordinary Australian woman who practices and teaches meditation. She has come to believe she is receiving the philosophy from a layer of God – nicknamed Alpha - but she doesn't mind if you think Alpha is all in her own head.
Alpha’s Page is not a religionAlpha is not associated with any religion, and is not looking for followers. Alpha thinks you should play with ideas about the universe, test them and see if they work. You might like some of his ideas and not others. You are never obliged to accept everything which another person believes.
Alpha is not just for God-believersThere are many ideas in Alpha’s philosophy that might appeal to you even if you don’t believe in God. Alpha teaches that we need to learn to accept the diversity and destruction that are inherent in nature, and we need to live without hoping for miracles. He urges people accept their own behaviour and let go of their regrets, while at the same time aspiring for something lovelier for the future.
Why bother with Alpha’s philosophy?Alpha's philosophy combines the best of religion with the best of atheism. Like a religion, Alpha speaks of a loving God who has good intentions for all of us, and who can help us with all our troubles if we open ourselves to him. Like the freedom of atheism, however, Alpha also speaks as if there is no urgency to believe in God, there is no pressure for you to achieve more than what comes naturally, and there are no special tricks or rites that you should be practicing in order to save your soul.
